Steve Jacobs
Partner
WorkCover
I studied law at Melbourne University and graduated in 1973.
I did articles with Huan Walker at F MiIler Robinson & Co, where my love affair with workers compensation began and I became an associate in 1975.
I joined Coltmans in 1978, became a partner the following year and from the mid 1980’s assumed the role of partner in charge and relationship partner of the WorkCover group.
In 1999, Coltmans joined Middletons and I continued my previous role until February 2003, when the WorkCover group joined Wisewoulds. I am presently the partner responsible for management and supervision of statutory benefits claims and litigation.
I have specialised in workers compensation law throughout my career and, although I have conducted all types of workers compensation statutory benefits and common law claims and litigation, my roots are in statutory benefits.
I was a member of a committee convened in 1993 to draft the WorkCover Rules of the Magistrates court and a member of the Law Institute Accident Compensation committee and have been a member of the County Court Liaison committee and the WorkCover Authority Legal Liaison committee.
I have found Wisewoulds to be a different and dynamic law firm.
Modesty prevents me from telling the whole story!

I am a hopeless sportaholic and long suffering Melbourne Demons supporter. My wife, Lorraine, and I enjoy travel and dining out in the company of good friends.
