I graduated from Monash University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Economics and in 1974 with a Bachelor of Laws. I was admitted to practice in 1975. I became a partner in a medium sized law firm in 1976, establishing and consolidating a general commercial law division. In 1984 I formed Fisher, Sharp & Associates which in 1988 evolved into Vann Fisher & Associates, providing expertise in commercial law and private client areas. My practice merged with Wisewoulds in 2002, bringing in excess of 25 years of commercial law and private client experience to the firm. I have expertise in:
I enjoy spending time with my family, whether it be a night out for dinner and a movie, or taking a holiday by the beach. I also enjoy regular exercise and like to relax with a good book.
I have developed over the years a capacity to see the “big picture” and advise clients on both commercial and private strategy and the broader commercial issues affecting their activities. Clients value this ability to look beyond the legal issues yet retain a clear grasp of the finer detail required to ensure secure and viable legal structures and arrangements are effected.
I am also interested in issues of corporate and private governance. I advise clients on their legal responsibilities at law and under legislation and as to requirements for maintenance of proper documentation and records.
My intention in merging my practice to Wisewoulds was to continue providing excellent service to my client base with the support of Wisewoulds’ infrastructure. I also anticipate that I will apply my management experience (both in terms of legal practice and generally) to Wisewoulds and will enhance my client base with the support of the Wisewoulds team.
