Hello!! My name is Catherine Pulverman - I grew up in Shepparton, a country town in Northern Victoria...having experienced the relaxed and slow-paced lifestyle of my hometown, I set my sights on moving to Melbourne to go to university. 12 years later I now call Melbourne my hometown and love living in this exciting and cosmopolitan city!!
My interest in the law started in high school and it was there that I decided that I wanted to become a criminal lawyer - how exciting would it be to be involved in murder trials in the Supreme Court!! However, as the years progressed, my interest in criminal law waned and I decided that I wanted to become a commercial litigator…it seemed like an exciting area of law (not to mention the number of people who told me whilst I was doing work experience that criminal law was not as exciting as it was made to look on television!!)
I graduated from Latrobe University in 1996 and after completing the Leo Cussen Practical Training Course in 1998, I was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia. My legal career as a commercial litigator has been interesting, challenging and exciting.
I have had a fantastic opportunity working as a commercial litigator with Wisewoulds whose reputation in this area is well-known. I have experience in representing both corporate and individual clients in the insolvency and general commercial litigation areas. I also appear regularly for clients in the Magistrates', County, Supreme and Federal Courts at callovers, directions hearings, pre-hearing conferences, winding up proceedings and bankruptcy proceedings.
I pride myself in providing commercial and practical advice for my clients in achieving the desired outcomes in the resolution of their disputes.
I also hold the following positions and memberships:
Outside the office, I try to keep a regular routine at the gym, I am learning to speak Italian and I enjoy catching up with my family and friends to share good food and wine. I love the beach and became a fan of snorkelling whilst holidaying in Northern Queensland. I also take my camera everywhere (I have been told that if I wasn't a lawyer, my vocation would have to be that of a photographer!!).
Arriverderci, a piu tardi (to those people who don't speak Italian, "Goodbye, until later")!!
