My legal career began by chance rather than by design, with a temporary job as an assistant in the in-house legal department of British Standards Institution in London during a working holiday. The role became permanent and, upon returning home to Australia, I then spent five years as a law clerk with a Melbourne law firm specialising in intellectual property and commercial law, where I provided intellectual property advice to a number of high-profile clients including Kylie Minogue, SPC Ardmona and Mattel.
At the same time I studied off-campus for my Bachelor of Laws, completing it with Honours in 2004.
I joined Wisewoulds the following year and now work as a solicitor in the Corporate and Business Services division of our Commercial Department, where I am involved in a wide-ranging practice including franchising, sale and purchase of businesses, licensing and other commercial and corporate advice.
I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and spent several years as an entertainment and general news journalist, and then in local government media relations, before my move into the law.
Outside of work I enjoy, amongst many other things, cycling, overseas travel and semi-obscure European pop music. I also have a keen interest in architecture and design. My dream is to live a totally Wallpaper* lifestyle. It is never going to happen.
