I am an Accredited Business Law Specialist with expertise in the following areas.

  • General commercial, corporate advice and consultancy;
  • Corporations Law Act matters involving director's duties, corporate compliance and ASIC prosecutions of directors;
  • Pharmacy Law - advice to Pharmacists and Pharmacy Representative organisations such as Pharmaceutical Defence Limited (PDL); and
  • Contract - Tenders and Trade Practices Law

I hold the following memberships and associations:

  • Franchise Council of Australia ("FCA");
  • International Franchise Lawyers Association ("IFLA");
  • Franchise Association of New Zealand ("FANZ")
  • Commercial Law Section Law Institute of Victoria;
  • Member of the US Commercial Service;
  • Board member and Company Secretary in charge of corporate compliance of the Elwood Community Bank, established under franchise of the Bendigo Bank; and
  • Honorary Solicitor to the Bonnie Babes Foundation Inc.

I have written numerous articles and have published articles in the Australian Financial Review, Franchise magazines and related Journals on Franchise law and am a regular columnist in the Australian Journal of Pharmacy.

I have developed considerable business expertise from my own experience in retail working in the Teds Camera Stores Group, and provide advice and consultancy to business in a wide range of industries.

I enjoy the challenge of finding lateral solutions for clients to enable them to achieve their desired commercial outcome.

We operate with clients in an open and transparent manner regarding fees. I have instigated at Wisewould Mahony new and flexible fee arrangements for clients such as fixed fees, based on scope of works and capped fees. This provides clients with certainty and the ability to monitor and budget fees.

Competitive Sailor

My personal interests revolve around my family. My wife Janelle is also a lawyer, which makes for interesting night time discussion. I enjoy listening to music, song writing, playing guitar, as well as competition and recreational sailing.
