Bec Littlejohn

Solicitor

WorkCover

A career in law was not one that I had initially planned for. In 2002, I completed a Bachelor of Arts at Melbourne University with a major in History and Psychology. My long passion for history came out the winner and I was headed down the pathway to becoming a Historian, undertaking both Honours and Masters degrees in the area.

As part of my research I was fortunate to teach and travel overseas and became involved in a number of community development organisations in Boston that were battling with significant legal issues. The desire to understand and assist in the legal arena triggered a 180 turn from analysing past problems to the present, and the decision to pursue law. In 2007 I completed a Bachelor of Laws at Monash University.

I have recently been admitted to practise after completing an extremely enjoyable year of Articles where I was immersed within a diverse and interesting range of work within all the practice areas. I have recently joined the WorkCover department and enjoy the challenge that the law in this area presents. From a workplace perspective it is an area where individual team member talent and intellect complement each other and provide an excellent support for my formative years as a Solicitor. I feel very lucky to be a part of this. The workplace cultivates a sense of egalitarianism and the creation of confidence.

Outside of work, I continue with my amateur music pursuits, love keeping fit with gym, running and tennis, and travel as much as the penny allows. Most recently I visited Mexico and Cuba - both fantastic - however some sharper Spanish skills may have been of assistance in retrospect. Live and learn! All good fun.
