I completed Bachelor of Arts/Laws at Melbourne University in 1981 and then worked at Carroll and Dillon where I did my articles and was fortunate to remain until 1987.
I then joined a medium sized firm called Coltmans and after becoming a partner in 1994 was involved in mergers which led to Coltmans Price Brent in 1996 and Middletons in 1999.
I have been a partner at Wisewoulds since 2003.
I have expertise in:
- Industry related personal injury
- Workers Compensation
- Industrial Litigation within the insurance industry
- Negligence and Occupational Health and Safety
My main client is the Victorian Workcover Authority which is responsible for the majority of civil litigation in Victoria.
I have been fortunate to represent the VWA in the Court of Appeal cases known as Barwon Spinners ats Podolak which set the template for common law damages applications pursuant to the Accident Compensation Act 1985.
I have recently had the carriage of a matter which has proceeded to the High Court and is now returning to the Victorian Court of Appeal and will further define the law in this area.
Over the years, I have worked with a diverse range of people and viewed a number of different management and work practices. I believe that the Wisewould Mahony approach to work, the firm's commitment to its staff/ clients and the results achieved show that we are on the right track.
The first page of this website -About Us- is not rhetoric but reality.
I have always held the view that the nicest barristers and solicitors work in the Common Law field. I now know that the best of that group in fact reside under the Wisewould Mahony banner.
I am proud to call them my friends.

Away from work, I engage in a mid week tennis league and social rowing but my big thrill is having a small share in a potential champion racehorse (Domzero) with a great group of friends. My wife and 2 children are now converts to the Sport of Kings.
