I am a solicitor in the Corporate and Business Services division of Wisewould Mahony commercial department.

My practice specialty is intellectual property, including:

• Commercialisation of intellectual property;
• Trade mark registrations and prosecutions, including international registration and protection;
• General brand and image protection;
• Intellectual property licensing and transfers;
• Advice on copyright;
• Passing off, misleading and deceptive conduct and other intellectual property infringement;
• Domain names; and
• Confidentiality.

I also act in general commercial matters, such as:

• Sale and purchase of businesses;
• Drafting and negotiating licensing, distribution and agency agreements;
• Shareholders, unitholders and partnership agreements;
• Sales of shares;
• Franchising, acting on behalf both franchisees and franchisors, including the establishment of new franchises; and
• Corporate advisory and compliance for both public and private companies.

My clients range from individuals and small businesses through to established franchisors and larger corporations with international sales bases.

Prior to joining Wisewoulds in 2005 I spent five years as a paralegal at another Melbourne law firm practising in intellectual property and commercial law, where I provided intellectual property advice to a number of high-profile clients including Kylie Minogue and Mattel.

I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and have worked as an entertainment and general news journalist and in local government media relations.

I am a member of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand.
