Alice Kwong
Trainee Solicitor
After completing my Arts/Law degree from Monash University in 2008, which I began at Deakin in 2004, I have been so fortunate to commence my Traineeship in 2009 at Wisewould Mahony. My Arts major is in linguistics (study of all languages), with a minor in Chinese. However I decided to pursue a career in the legal field as did not quite know what to do with my Arts degree...
During my law studies, I was lucky enough to travel and work in Hong Kong, doing a 3 week internship at a small sole-proprietor law firm. This gave me the chance to utilize my skills in the Chinese language as well as gaining invaluable experience. In my last year of law, I continued to learn more about the Asian legal systems by studying abroad at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
5 years of university finally came to an end, and now I am so proud to be at Wisewould Mahony, a firm that has a wonderfully warm and supportive culture. As 'Trainee' solicitors, we are highly involved in matters from the outset, with the opportunity to appear in court within the first week. Currently, I am in the Commercial Litigation & Insurance department which is a dynamic and challenging area of the firm. Whilst some tasks have required a high-level of responsibility, the care and understanding provided by everyone at Wisewould Mahony has set off my career to a fantastic start. My brief time at Wisewould Mahony has been most enjoyable so far and I am looking forward to an exciting year as we rotate through each of the practice areas in the firm.

Outside of work, my interests are in staying active with attempts to go jogging, swimming and dancing. At the same time, I do enjoy being a spectator of all sports. I also like traveling, shopping 'til I drop, going out for coffees with friends, watching a comedy or catching one of the many great foreign films.
