Angela Diamantis
Finance Manager
I am the newly appointed firm's Finance Manager.
I have completed a Bachelor of Commerce, a CPA and Masters of Taxation. I have worked in public practice for 8 years, tax training and consulting for 5 years, practice and financial management for 4 years and have worked in the legal industry for 2 years.
I began my career back in December 1989 working for a tax accounting firm who specialised in tax services predominantly to the medical profession. My responsibilities included the preparation of financial statements, tax returns, annual company returns of non-reporting entities and consultation with clients to provide business, financial and tax advice. Within a few years, I was responsible for supervision of staff and review of their work. After working in compliance and commencing my Masters degree, I chose a specialist tax consulting role to complement my education that was not available at the firm.
I joined Webb Martin in January 1998. Initially, I was responsible for the preparation of the content of the Webb Martin Update materials including research of latest developments, location of technical source material and accuracy of content. In April 2000, I moved to the consulting division of Webb Martin and was involved in the provision of verbal, written and tax-related advice to clients whilst consistently maintaining my taxation skills and knowledge of taxation law. In January 2003, the firm restructured and I was asked by the directors to be Business Manager for the firm. My role was diverse and included all manner of tax and financial compliance, human resources and the management of all aspects of the day to day running of the business. In 2004, I was involved in the due diligence and subsequent acquisition of the firm by Kaplan International Ltd (previously Tribeca Learning Ltd). As a result of the takeover of Webb Martin and subsequent restructure in July 2006, I was offered a role in Sydney as the firm's Tax, Risk and Compliance Manager which I declined which resulted in my role at Webb Martin being made redundant.
After coming back from overseas, I took up a 12 month maternity leave contract with another medium sized Melbourne law firm in November 2006. The role involved responsibility for the maintenance of all tax, accounting and financial records of the firm, in accordance with appropriate standards and requirements. My direct reports included the Financial Accountant, Credit Controller, Assistant Credit Controller, Accounts Team Leader and four Accounts Clerks.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going to the beach, exercising at the gym, reading and dancing. Having being here for a short time, I can honestly say that the firm is extremely friendly, values their staff, promotes work/life balance and appears to be a great place to work.
